This is perhaps the biggest misconception in car care. A lot of people think that washing a car during the rainy season is a waste of money because the car will just get dirty again the next day.

Here is why that logic is flawed: Rainwater is not clean water. As raindrops fall, they collect pollutants and dust from the atmosphere. When this dirty water dries on your car, it leaves behind highly acidic water spots that will eat through your clear coat.

The Truth: You actually need to wash your car more frequently during the monsoon. Removing the mud, road salt, and acidic rain residue is critical to preventing rust and paint degradation. We recommend applying a strong hydrophobic sealant or wax right before the monsoon hits to make the water bead up and roll off.

Myth 2: It's totally safe to wash a hot car in the summer

Imagine parking your car in the direct 40°C afternoon sun, and then suddenly throwing cold water and soap all over it. Not a good idea.

The Truth: Washing a hot car in direct sunlight is a recipe for disaster. First, the sudden temperature change can warp metal parts or even crack glass if the temperature difference is extreme. Second, and more commonly, the heat will cause the water and soap to evaporate almost instantly.

When the water evaporates that fast, it leaves behind soap scum and hard mineral deposits baked directly into the paint. These are incredibly difficult to remove and often require professional machine polishing.

The Solution: Always wash your car in a shaded area or early in the morning/late in the evening when the metal panels are cool to the touch.
